Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about the Rapid Press. Can't find your answer? Contact us.

How does the Rapid Press work?

Fill the bottle from any clear freshwater source, press the plunger down, and drink. Filtration takes about ten seconds — no batteries, no pumping, no chemical tablets.

What does it filter out?

Three filtration stages remove sediment and visible particles, 99.9% of bacteria (0.05-micron hollow-fiber membrane), 99.9% of protozoa and cysts, plus chlorine, chemicals, bad taste and odor through the activated carbon stage.

What does it NOT filter?

The Rapid Press is built for freshwater — rivers, lakes and streams. It does not filter saltwater or heavily contaminated industrial water. When in doubt, fill from the clearest, fastest-moving water available.

How long does the cartridge last?

The cartridge is rated for about 2,500 uses. When the flow slows down, swap in a new one — it takes seconds. Replacement cartridges are available in our shop.

How do I replace the cartridge?

Unscrew the base, pull out the used cartridge, drop in the new one and screw the base back on. The whole swap takes seconds and requires no tools.

How do I clean and store it?

Rinse the bottle and plunger with clean water after use and let everything air-dry before storage. For longer storage between trips, run clean water through the filter and let it dry fully.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes — the press mechanism is simple enough that kids can use it, and it requires no chemicals or batteries. Adult supervision is still recommended with any water treatment method.

Is the filter included with the bottle?

Yes — the filter cartridge comes pre-installed in the bottle, and a carabiner is included free so you can clip it to your pack.

How much does shipping cost?

Every order ships with free delivery shipping, delivered within 72 hours in the United States.

What is your return policy?

14-day returns. Not right for you? Send it back within 14 days of delivery for a refund.
